The final of the sixth wave of GCIP Ukraine Acceleration Program

The final of the sixth wave of the GCIP Ukraine competition of innovative environmentally friendly projects took place on April 27-28.

 

At the end of the three-week GCIP Ukraine Business Academy, which included interactive training sessions, practical cases, networking, meetings with mentors and individual consultations with leading business trainers and successful practices, participants of 9 startup teams presented their projects to the jury.

 

The event was held in a pitching format, ie each team had 10 minutes for the presentation of the project, and 5-6 minutes for a question and answer session from the jury members, which included representatives:

  • Chamber of Commerce Israel – Ukraine
  • State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine
  • Council for Attracting Investments at the Rivne Regional State Administration
  • Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
  • Regional GCIP Accelerator in Sumy Oblast/Startup Center of Sumy State University “New Generation”

After heated discussions by the jury members, two projects were chosen as national winners of the sixth wave of the GCIP Ukraine Acceleration program – “A mixture of green gases as a substitute for freon in freezers” and the project “Production of highly effective hemostatic agents”.

 

The finalists were also determined in the following nominations:

  • Medicine for sustainable development – “Production of highly effective hemostatic agents”
  • Innovations for food safety – “Fumibox”
  • The best social project/The best women’s project – “Agro-valley of self-reliance (beehive for beekeepers)”
  • Innovations for the sustainable development of agriculture – “Organic Way”
  • Circular economy – “Integrated approach to the processing of seaweed from recreational marine areas”
  • Expansion of the geography of mineral water consumers – “Network vending machine for drinking liquid”
  • Waste recycling – “Production of innovative eco-friendly dinnerware”
  • Youth entrepreneurial initiative – “GREEN STICK”
