Applications process for the 2nd wave of GCIP Ukraine National Cleantech Competition have started!

You have a cleantech project and want to take it to the next level. Perfect, we invite you to aplly for our cleantech innovation competition.

This competition is part of the UNIDO / GEF Global Cleantech Innovation Program for SMEs in Ukraine. The finalists of competition have the opportunity to receive from $ 5,000 to $ 50,000 for startup project development, training at the Project Business Academy, mentoring from leading international and national experts, support in finding partners and financial resources to implement the ideas.


In order to participate in the competition, you should fill in the application form on the project site in the section “Application form“.

About the competition and the Acceleration program


A key component of the GCIP Ukraine is the annual competition-based Accelerator, which aimes to give the impetus for most promising innovators and entrepreneurs across a country. Leading international and Ukrainian experts (together with government, business and civil society) will work on developing cleantech ideas and start-ups. The purpose of the Acceleration program is to help clean tech startups go from idea go from idea to successful and working cleantech business.


To participate in the startups competition are invited small and medium-sized enterprises with a registration period of not more than 3 years, organizations, creative teams, scientific societies and unions, individuals-inventors. Startup projects should focus on the introduction of clean technologies (any processes, products or services that reduce negative environmental impacts throught significant energy efficiency improvements, the sustainable use of resources (including waste management) or environmental protectionactivities and to result in reductions in greenhouse gases and other pollutants.


Innovation can be a product, technology, methodological approach, software, industrial design project. Startup projects should not be projects for the reconstruction or restructuring of existing businesses.
